Life as a Marine > Prepared For Life
COMMITTED TO MARINES, COMMUNITY, COUNTRY
The Marine Corps makes the following commitments:
We will make Marines
Earning the right to call oneself a Marine is intentionally difficult. There are no shortcuts, and the training is intense. In 13 grueling weeks raw recruits will be transformed into Marines. These individuals will be confident, self-reliant and determined for whatever challenges they face both in and out of the Corps.
We will win our nation's battles
The Marine Corps' purpose is simple: to fight and win our nation's battles. It's their very reason for being and it's what they do best. Ultimately it is their effort that keeps our country safe and free.
We will develop quality citizens
The values and discipline that equip Marines for success in the Corps also prepare your son or daughter for a successful future in civilian life. Many American leaders credit their success to their time spent in the Marine Corps.
